As you probably know, as an actor or any other artist, we have to keep our skills sharp and updated. What we don not always know, is that we need to keep our eyes on the business end of things. Because the bizNess end is the part that keeps us fed and adds the "cherry on top" for our being able to work in something that we actually love doing.

In 2008 you will need a passport to travel between the US and Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean. So if you are planning such a trip, plan on getting your passport soon to avoid an additional $67 fee to have it expedited.
It costs $30 for the passport fee, $67 for an application fee, and another (optional) $67 to have it expedited.
This might influence your decision of whether or not to expedit the process:
I applied for my passport in September and was told it would take between 10 to 12 weeks to receive due to the new rule changes coming in 2008 and an increased influx of applications.
It took 7 weeks. An expedited application takes 3 weeks. Now you can make an educated guess as to whether to get a expedited passport or not.
You should just plan on getting your passport well in advance to save that additional $67.
